This tool allows you to measure distances on the map.
Activating the tool will change the cursor from an arrow to a crosshair. Clicking on the map and moving the mouse (no longer holding the mouse button) will generate a coloured segment. If you don't move the mouse for a moment, a window will appear next to the crosshair, informing you of the distance between the starting point and the crosshairs current location.
Clicking again will turn the coloured segment into a dotted line that no longer changes it's position.
Moving the mouse again will generate a new coloured segment that runs between the last place you clicked and the crosshairs current location. The window will now diplay more information. 'Segment' refers to the length of the current coloured segment and 'Total' lists the total amount of segments created with this tool, and their overall length.
To remove all segments, click the 'Measure Distance' button or the 'Arrow' button.
