When this button is active, the mouse cursor takes the shape of the depicted arrow. The button has two functions:
- Firstly, Areas, Linears and Points can be selected on the map and in the data tree.
- Secondly, enables the user to move the current extent of the map in any desired direction. To do this, press and hold the left mouse button and move the cursor on the map. On release of the button the new map extent will be viewed. This function incorporates and replaces the former "pan" button.
